The Validate process may produce validation errors. These will be listed in the Submission Detail page under Validation Errors tab:
A submission with validation errors cannot be submitted until the errors are cleared.
Errors can be cleared in one of the following ways:
Delete file and upload again.
In the Upload Files tab, Check file to be deleted, and Click Delete Selected Files
Download errors, make offline corrections to errors, delete errors online, upload corrected errors.
In the Errors tab, Click Export to Excel to download the records with errors. Open the file in Microsoft Excel and make the necessary corrections, save the file. In the Errors tab, Click Delete All Error Rows to delete all the records with errors. Upload the previously saved file with the new corrections.
Make inline corrections to errors
In the Errors tab, Click a record row and the errors will be highlighted for you to correct 'online'.
If the error relates to a field with specific options available eg Gender, then the options available will be listed.
If the error relates to the LSOA field, there is a popup that assists in checking the LSOA.
If you are not sure of the correct LSOA, you can enter a postcode and check the valid LSOA:
If there are multiple errors of the same type in the same field, then you can select Propagate Correction to apply the correction to all similar errors).
Delete all errors
Finally, in the Errors tab, Click Delete All Error Rows will just delete all records with errors. Unless you download an extract of the errors (as in the second option above), you will not have a record of the data containing errors and both the errors and their data records will be lost to the Grouper.
