What data do Services need to collect?

For Clinicians

If you are a clinician you will continue to code activity as before for SRHAD and GUMCAD/GUMCAD2 with the exception of including a small number of extra local codes for microscopy (TS), 3-site tests (TT) and Hep/HSV (TH) tests, there will also be some local contraception codes which are being refined at the moment.  We have published a full description of the complete Tariff Dataset.

For Data Managers

To minimise the data collection burden, coding and pricing will be based on existing statutory returns with supplimentary local codes.

The Tariff Data Working Group has developed the dataset required from statutory reporting fields with a few additions. Depending on the amount of STI work done SRH services will need to collect elements of the SHHAPT (GUMCAD) dataset.  Similarly GUM will have to collect elements of the new SRHAD dataset.  There are many suitable IT systems on the market. The manufacturers of these systems are working with the London Project to ensure they are capable of collecting the data and reporting it for Tariff.

The current dataset definition can be found at Tariff Dataset
